Holiday time in Karamoja!
But our gate is still open! The children come to us in the morning and have time to play on the playground. Bernhard, one staff member and I have started to shave our children's heads. Through the wind and the dusty landscape they can wash themselves easier and it is harder for the fungal desease to spread. Daily the children get posho (maize starch) and beans. The whole food distribution whilst the holidays is financed by donations. There is so much food that our school kids

Our human ressource manager Gerald was on tour through Karamoja with the purpose of hosting a meeting with all the JACK (Jesus Agape Center Karamoja) VfA Karamoja staff and the outcome was glorious: effective, fruitful and with many beautiful impressions for you how our project there looks like. Greenhouse model

Own vegetable production Karamoja
These are some pics of our small gardens. We have a lot of vegetables in JACK (Jesus Agape Center Karamoja) i.e. Sukumawiki (green leave vegetable), spinach, okra (a kind of vegetable), millet, onions, tomatoes, egg-plants, green peppers, maize, passion fruits… We have these in small quantities and others were for demonstration to test whether it grows well in this soil. Current building project in Karamoja: Dormitory for 300 kindergarten kids
This is the current state of the building site of the dormitory for 300 kindergarten children in Karamoja. This is very urgent that the small ones can stay with us for at least 3 months throughout and do not have to go back home to their dirty and poor homes without water, power or a mattress. Current building project: Dormitories in Karamoja
In Karamoja dormitories are currently being built for the children of our Richard Prean Kindergarten, "because it is impossible to send the kids every evening back to their miserably poor homes. (They sleep on the plain soil ground without a bed or matrace, they are exposed to various insects and any kind of hygiene is missing generally.)", so speaks Maria Prean. Update to building project: Round huts in Karamoja
The building progress of the round huts in Karamoja (for the old and lonely people) is fully in action, our builder Apollo and the team are busy working. The builders were divided in five groups, each group works on five houses. Josef Bitterwolf, leader of the VfA ministry in Karamoja, calculated how is has to be measured and Apollo planned to start with 15 houses. The first five houses are done with the foundation and slab. The next five are in the foundation digging process

The first day of our Karamoja children in Vision for Africa
It was a full and exciting day! Children came in crowds early morning to the VfA gate, to get registered and be welcomed, but many curious bystanders were also there, watching: The future nursery school children of the Richard Prean Nursery School were welcomed and received some information and a brief structure of the day that was ahead of them: Still in their original state, dirty and hungry, which would soon change... Good news from Karamoja
While the dusty paths and compounds in and around the Richard Prean Nursery school and the Headquarter are being plastered with stones (img. 1-4), the vivid children run around and have fun with a "water challenge" game (img. 5-7). Already two volunteers are there with the first children of our Nursery school (img. 7) and also our sent headmaster Robert is in the midst of Karamojong school children and happy about the progress that is visible and tangible everywhere. Building process: Water tower Karamoja
Project: Water Tower for Karamoja Beginning: July 23rd, 2017 End: July 26th, 2017 A tall water tower for water supply in Karmoja is being raised up at the moment. The builders sent us some picture updates! Now the upper base ist the next thing to be done, then the water tanks can be lifted up.
